John Peel

I was really saddened by the news of the death John Peel. Like thousands (if not millions) of others I grew up listening to his show. I feel like he introduced me to loads of bands like the Sugarcubes, Smiths, Wedding Present etc, etc, etc.

I loved his sense of humour, the fact that he seems so down to earth, and of course, his taste in music.

I think the idea of naming one of the stages at Glastonbury after him is fantastic.

RIP John, you were one of the good guys.

I have nver heard John Peel performing, but during the last few days the radio 4 has been talking very highly about him. And there I heard many snippets of his performance, interview etc. I quite liked his voice and kind of laid back style. He must be among the greats. Sad to see him go.
